FIRE SAFETY

It is a legal requirement that all companies with 5 employees or more must produce a documented fire risk assessment. If you are a landlord then it is now a legal requirement (from October 2015) to install smoke detectors for your tenants.

SERVICING & ASSESSMENT

We can conduct a fire risk assessment to establish that the correct measures are taken and implemented so the risks are managed.

The servicing of your portable fire fighting equipment is an integral part of your business annual maintenance schedule. Mendip fire and safety can service and maintain your portable fire extinguishers in accordance to British Standards by BAFE accredited engineers.

Responsibility for fire risk assessment now lies with the owner, manager, building occupier, competent or responsible person to ensure this is carried out.  They need to ensure that they comply with their legal obligations and carry out a fire risk assessment, we hate to say it but we live in a blame culture and every day another person is fined or imprisoned for not implementing the measures to ensure life safety.

“Stephen Wood is a very conscientious, he has been servicing our addressable alarm system since2012, he always turns up every six months without being prompted.

When we have had a fault error message on the fire alarm panel he has come out within an hour to assess and repair the fault, he even came out at short notice on New Year’s Eve as he always makes the safety of customers and staff paramount. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and his services.”
